The next few photographs will trace my recent trip to North East India. I hope they do justice to this extraordinary place and make a few more people want to go and explore this largely ignored part of our country.
This photo was taken on the flight from Kolkata to Nagaland, the first leg of my journey. Image specifications:6 mm, 1/800 sec, F/4, ISO 80
Next stop: Meghalaya. This one's taken from inside a cave in Mausingram, the wettest place on earth.
Image specifications:8 mm, 1/160 sec, F/3.2, ISO 200
Great One-horned Rhinoceros, Kaziranga.Image specifications:72 mm, 1/400 sec, F/4, ISO 80
Of all the forests I have visited in India, Kaziranga's definitely the best. Can't wait to go back there.

I noticed this fly in our garden, on a particularly hot summer morning, when I was about to leave for office. It was the color that caught my attention, and made me get the camera. I was late for work that day, but the image more than made up for it. Image specifications:72 mm, 1/250 sec, F/3.7, ISO 100
