Bhitarkanika

Another of my favourite forests. Bhitarkanika in Orissa. The islands are heaven for any wild life lover. The biggest attraction there are the giant white salt water crocs, but didn't get any good sightings.

Female Purple Sunbird, (Cinnyris asiaticus)

I chose this photograph to start with because it has a special place in my collection. For many reasons.

This was sitting on an empty plot of land in front of our house. Shot it handheld from the garden.
