Caged.

This was a rather young leopard caged in Gangtok's zoo. Unlike the other adult leopard in the adjoining cage, this was not restless at all. Infact it was very quiet, looking almost sad in it's captivity.
This, and the next three photographs are from my trip to Sikkim during Christmas last year.

Durga Puja '07

It's been quite some time since I've updated this blog. To make up for the gap, I'll post a few photographs in quick succession. This is the first one among them, taken during this year's Durga Puja.

Flight to Nagaland

The next few photographs will trace my recent trip to North East India. I hope they do justice to this extraordinary place and make a few more people want to go and explore this largely ignored part of our country.
This photo was taken on the flight from Kolkata to Nagaland, the first leg of my journey.

Of all the forests I have visited in India, Kaziranga's definitely the best.
Can't wait to go back there.

Dragonfly

I noticed this fly in our garden, on a particularly hot summer morning, when I was about to leave for office.
It was the color that caught my attention, and made me get the camera. I was late for work that day, but the image more than made up for it.

Durga Puja '06

I don't remember the name of the organiser.
This was some small Puja near Ekdalia Evergreen.Small, but tastefully decorated, with a beautiful ambience.
It's a pity I couldn’t frame the entire subject.Which reminds me to add one more thing to my wish-list: A wide-angle lens!

Mirror, mirror on the wall.Who's the craziest of 'em all?

We got bored of standing by the doorway and decided to snap ourselves. This was during the recent 40 hrs train journey from B'lore to Kolkata.
The journey turned out to be lot less of an ordeal than I thought it would be.Thanks entirely to the presence of a lively bunch of people travelling with me.One of them was my old school buddy(seen in the pic with me).

But 40 hrs!! That's still too much. Next time I think I'll be flying! :-)

The beginning...

Thought I would start this blog....not really
with the intention of writing anything, but as a place for displaying my photos....anything that I feel is worth sharing.

Bouquets & brickbats welcome. :-)

So here goes the first one...
It's a sunrise photo, taken from my terrace. Thought would be kinda symbolic to start with..
